A 60-year-old lady was once killed and some other injured as Pakistan rained mortars on Indian posts and ahead villages alongside the Line of Keep watch over (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district at the intervening night time of Tuesday and Wednesday.
Poonch district police leader SSP Ramesh Kumar Angral mentioned, “there was once ceasefire violation through Pakistan and at round 0235 hrs (2.35 AM) through which an previous lady was once killed and some other injured in Lanjote space of Mendhar. Pakistan violated ceasefire alongside the LoC in Balakote and Mendhar sectors of the district, he mentioned. The stretch is manned through 12 Madras Battalion.
The deceased was once recognized as Reshma Bi and the injured as Hakam Bi, 58, each belonging to Lanjote in Mendhar.

Defence spokesman Lt Col Devender Anand mentioned, “round 0200 hours, (2 AM) Pakistan initiated unprovoked ceasefire violation through firing with small palms after which resorted to intense shelling alongside the LoC in Balakote and Mendhar sectors. Indian Military retaliated befittingly. The firing stopped at about 0245 hours. (2.45 AM).
